July 2, 2021, Hong Kong – Gaw Capital Partners is delighted to congratulate Ms. Christina Gaw, Managing Principal, Global Head of Capital Markets and Co-Chair of Alternative Investments at Gaw Capital Partners, who has been named as one of the top 10 PERE’s Women of Influence, which recognizes the most influential women in global private markets. The cross-asset class list recognizes influential and pioneering women who have achieved notable performance over the last 12 months.
Christina Gaw led the Gaw Capital’s Capital Markets team’s successful fundraising for Gateway Real Estate Fund VI in December 2019, bringing the total equity raised for the fund to its hard cap size of US$2.2 billion – Gaw Capital Partners’ largest fund to date. In addition to the US$2.2 billion raised, the firm secured a sidecar co-investment commitment of up to US$800 million. This was also recognized by PERE Global Awards 2020 for its achievement in PERE’s “Capital Raise of the Year, Asia”.

Amid the pandemic in 2020, Christina has closed two investment vehicles totaling up to US$902 million in commitments. The first vehicle will focus primarily on real estate opportunities across sectors and markets in Asia. The second vehicle seeks to invest in education platforms in major Asian cities with strong structural tailwinds supporting growth in demand for premium international or bilingual education. She also successfully closed the fundraising for its internet data center (IDC) platform, which targets to invest in a portfolio of projects in partnership with IDC developers and operators in China, bringing the total equity raised over US$1.3 billion. With the successful fundraise for the IDC platform in 2020, Gaw Capital Partners was named as “Alternatives Investor of the Year, Asia” by PERE Global Awards 2020.
In addition to her great achievements in fundraising, she has curated ESG policy and supported various kinds of corporate social responsibility work to be implemented across various projects at Gaw Capital, such as People’s Place as well as other global and local charities. For example, Gaw Capital Partners have been creating shared value for our communities and improving people’s lives and neighborhood communities by revitalizing obsolete sportsgrounds at various public estates in Hong Kong and supporting underprivileged children in learning new emerging sports, as well as in basketball. She has also emphasized about adopting green initiatives and innovative technology in buildings to reduce carbon footprints and energy consumption. She also serves as an Independent Non-executive Director and Member of the Finance and General Committee and the Sustainability Committee of CLP Holdings Limited (0002.HK).
She has been instrumental in fostering a winning corporate culture – Passion, Responsibility, Creativity, for Gaw Capital Partners, growing a strong team of over 1,500 employees globally over the past 10 years. She advocates gender equality within the company and is active in the community and educational sector in Hong Kong. She is currently a board member of the InspiringHK Sports Foundation, an advisor for Teach for Hong Kong and Time Auction, a finance committee member and board member of the Hong Kong International School, board member of the Stellart International School of Arts, executive committee vice chairwoman of St. Paul’s Co-educational College Alumni Association, corporate member of the Cheltenham Ladies College UK, school supervisor for TWGHs S. C. Gaw Memorial College and council member of Lingnan University, Hong Kong. She has also served as a board member of The Women’s Foundation for over 10 years from 2009 to 2019.
Ms. Christina Gaw was recognized by PERE as one of the Rainmaker 30 in 2018 and recognized at the “Business Women of the Year Awards” by CEO Today Global Awards in 2019. She has over 25 years of investment banking and investment management experience in the Asia Pacific region with deep experience covering some of the largest institutional investors globally. She works closely with limited partners on capital raising and new product development. She is also passionate about women and girls’ advancement issues.
